Our student account features an interest-free overdraft you can request to increase each year, starting at £1,400

Cashminder account

Our basic bank account for people who may have a low credit score or no credit history

A basic bank account with a debit card but no overdraft, for new customers who may not qualify for other kinds of account. Manage your cash in-branch, through online banking and with our mobile app.

Your eligible deposits held by a UK establishment of The Co-operative Bank plc are protected up to a total of £85,000 by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme, the UK's deposit guarantee scheme. This limit is applied to the total of any deposits you have with The Co-operative Bank and smile. Any total deposits you hold above the limit between these brands are unlikely to be covered.
